Draw Near to God and He Will Draw Near to You. (James 4:8)
Christianity is way more than a religion. It is truly about a relationship with God. Like any relationship, it takes work – daily prayer, conversation with God, spending time reading the Bible, and relying more on God and less of yourself.
Recognize God is in control.
“Be Still and Know that I AM God” Psalm 46:10. God is at work in our everyday lives. He created the earth, and everything in it. We were created in his image. The problem is, we all sin and fall short of the Glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
What is Sin?
In a nutshell, sin can be defined as any act that brings sorrow to God. When we sin, we do not deserve God – we deserve Hell; eternal punishment.
The GREAT news is that God loves us and offers a way to restore the relationship with him! God loved us so much, and wanted to be with us, that he came near. Jesus Christ is the son of God. Jesus lived, came, taught, and felt everything that we felt. Think about the worst thing you are going through right now, Jesus felt that.
Jesus himself said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” (John 14:6)
The good news here is that if we acknowledge that we are sinners, not perfect, and that we fall short of God, and we confess with our mouths that Jesus Christ is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, than you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
Jesus died for our sins and was crucified on the cross so that we may have eternal life and spend eternity with God. Jesus died so we could be forgiven by God. He was crucified on the cross and rose again in 3 days. He was seen by hundreds, and proved that he is Lord.
Say What?
1. Admit you are sinner
2. Believe with your heart, all of your heart, that Jesus is Lord.
3. Read the bible.
4. Join a church – and go as much as possible.
5. Pray Pray Pray Pray. Spend time with God everyday.
